One-Player Mode Tactics
- When fighting teams such as the Yoshi or Kirby Team, always use the R button to throw them off. Most of the time they will die!
- When fighting the Master Hand, se your A attacks instead of your characters special B attacks. Try to find patterns and anticipate the Master Hands attack.
- When Samus is knocked off the edge, try dropping bombs repeatedly to slow her fall. (After her first recovery jump) -Submitted by: Mike Peterson
General Codes
- Change Color Outfit
On the characters select screen, press the four C buttons to change your players outfit color.
- Rotate Characters
Go to data and select characters. Now hold the Z button and move your joystick to change angle views of your character.
- Borrow a Teammates Life
To borrow a life, when you are dead in a team battle and your partner has at least two stock, press start and you will borrow one. Be sure to get their permission first!
- Mew in Pokéballs
Although Mew has no affect, after you get all the secret characters Mew (the 151 Pokémon) will appear in your Pokéballs.
- Item Select Menu
To get the item select menu you must play multi-player mode 50 times.
- Secret Stage
To use the Secret Stage (The Mushroom Kingdom Stage), you must defeat One-Player mode with all eight default characters.
- Music Test
To use the Music Test you must beat Bonus Stage 1 and Bonus Stage 2 with all 12 characters.

When as Kirby against the Master Hand, Kirby's Stone move (down + B) can be very useful. Simply use the move before any of the hand's attacks to shield yourself. You will receive no damage. Unfortunately the effect is temporary. You can also end this effect quickly by pressing B so you can follow up with a flying kick combo

To play as Black Kirby, highlight Kirby and hold L, and Left C or Top C.

This is a secret that Nintendo has kept to itself. Some people are aware of the character, "Housemaster" in his new N64 game, "Arfenhouse", soon to be released. (It's an RPG). To help endorse him, they secretly planted him into the game. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get him. What to do: You must beat the game, on the very hard level with no continues (but with as many lives as you wish) in this order: Jigglypuff, Ness, Luigi and Captain Falcon. When you beat the game and get to the finish screen with Captain Falcon, enter this code: down, r, l, up, left, right, and start. Then, start a new game within any parameters--easy, hard, anything-- and choose Captain Falcon. Before pressing start, enter the code again--down, r, l, up, left, right-- and press start. Instead of Captain Falcon, you'll play as the hidden character, "Housemaster"!

Ever wonder that Bowser was in every "Mario" game for the 64 and yet he's not in super smash bros.? Ah thats where your wrong, he is! There are 2 ways to get him. *WARNING* this is a cheap dangerous way to get Bowser, plus when you turn the game off, you no longer have him!
1) Put on SSBros, go to the character select screen, then take out the cartridge and put in Mario Kart 64, you should be taken to the character select screen.
Choose Bowser. Then quickly put in SSBros. , now at the bottom, you have Bowser! *The right way to get Bowser* Defeat very hard mode with these characters in this order Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Wario(Mario's Wario outfit). Then you will have a fight with Bowser in the classic mushroom kingdom stage. I suggest you stay away from him, just shoot fire balls at him, if you get close he'll body slam u for an instant lose, or he'll blow you away with flame breath.
*RUMOR* If u start a new game(no hidden characters unlocked, sound test, nothing) and beat it on very hard with mario, you'll get Bowser instead of Jigglypuff.Confirmerd: it doesnt work!
- Metal Mario
To get Metal Mario, you must beat the game on very hard with 3 stocks only...no continues! DOES IT WORK?!

To get Raichu, you must beat the game with Pikachu in this order: Very easy, easy, normal, hard and very hard. DOES IT REALLY WORK?!
